Id3ToFolder erleichtert einem das mühselige Sortieren der Mp3 Sammlung. Das Programm liest den Id3 Tag (v1 und v2) aus, und erstellt Ordner aus diesen Informationen. Nach der Erstellung der Ordner werden die Mp3 Dateien in diese verschoben. Die Struktur und Formatierung der Ordner kann man hierbei selbst wählen. Beispielsweise erstellt das Programm einen Ordner für den Interpreten und erstellt jeweils einen Unterordner für jedes Album nach dem Muster „Jahr – Album“.
